SDC Director hired

The Texas SDC Program is pleased to announce that Mr. Walter Norris has been hired as Program Director. Prior to this position, he worked at Mental Health America of Dallas, as the director of a mental health program for returning veterans. He holds an MA in Church and Community Ministry and has had many years of experience working in the mental health and social service field.

Walter notes that, "The SDC program provides us with an opportunity to show that people with a serious mental illness can make good choices that lead to their recovery." His philosophy is that "community integration is a key to recovery." "My passion in life is to help people who are struggling to build lives with meaning and dignity" he explains.

Walter is married with three grown children and six granddaughters. "My granddaughters have brought many hours of happiness to my wife and I" he notes. His hobby is collecting coins and old books.

The SDC Program is lucky to have such a talented and committed director to nurture its development.
